Trap-Neuter-Return for feral and stray cats in Houston's Greater East End
There aren't enough homes for them all.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the most effective way to reduce the number of stray and feral cats in our neighborhood. Cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and then returned to the area where they already live. Friendly cats and kittens can be fostered or adopted, while feral cats continue living outdoors with the support of community caregivers. Spay/neuter makes cats healthier and happier.

TNR works because it prevents more kittens from being born while allowing existing cat colonies to naturally get smaller over time. Fixed cats are less likely to roam, fight or spray, which creates a more peaceful neighborhood for everyone.

Stopping breeding and caring for the cats already here is the most effective and compassionate way to reduce stray cat populations and improve the lives of both cats and our East End neighborhood.
